Little Bo Peep ..............

A very nice nursery rhyme that had been chosen for many cups and dishes is “Little Bo Peep”

Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
                                             And can't tell where to find them;
Leave them alone, And they'll come home,
                                            Wagging their tails behind them…

But there is not only one Little Bo Peep and, of course, I try to get all I find.
Sometimes, looking very innocent,  in flat plates and bowls

Another one, very elegant and well combed…look at the detail in the shepherd’s crook, matching with her hair bow

She´s not the only one that has her shehperd’s crook decorated with a ribbon bow

This one with a more country look, and too wrapped-up. Such a luxury for Andrea having plates with her name! Or may be his name, as the backstamp says it’s from Holland  (here in Argentina Andrea is only a name for girls and not also for boys like in Europe).

With a similar look, another Little Bo Peep, this time a complete set

Of course I must include the tea set that I have posted here

This girl looks a little nostalgic for me. The cup was already cracked when I bought it but I'm not too picky about cracks and chips. These are very old and fragil pieces and I love them, even when they are not in perfect condition.

A simple pattern, with very few colors but many characters

This very old one, a “Baby’s plate”, a deep sided bowl. Another too wrapped up girl!

It followed her to school one day…”

Here one that I thought was a Little Bo Peep but I now believe is a “Mary had a little lamb”. She hasn’t a shepperd crook… she has her school books (“…It followed her to school one day…”)
This is not an usual  plate.  It has a metal base that allows hot water to be poured into it. I will soon show you some more.
Any expert there? What do you think?

Is it necessary to tell you that I will continue looking for more Little Bo Peeps for my collection?

Hasta la próxima! Besos!

See you soon! Kisses

Silvina.
